Rufus, the Bear with Diabetes®, serves as a valuable companion for children managing type 1 diabetes. Through interactive play, this app offers kids an educational and comforting experience in diabetes management by caring for Rufus. Children can feed Rufus, administer insulin with a pen or pump, and monitor his blood sugar levels.

Rufus the Bear app immerses children in a safe environment where they can explore various aspects of diabetes care through engaging features:

<li>Measure Rufus’ blood sugar using a glucometer, test strips, and lancet.</li>
<li>Prepare Rufus’ insulin dose with an insulin pen.</li>
<li>Operate Rufus’ infusion site for insulin pump usage.</li>
<li>Discover carb values in different foods at Rufus’ Kitchen and assemble a meal for the bear.</li>
<li>Understand the impact of carbohydrates and insulin on Rufus’ well-being.</li>
<li>Enjoy Rufus’ Stories where Rufus explores new sports and activities through 21 animated storybooks.</li>
<li>Complete tasks with Navi, Rufus’ trainer, to access more of Rufus’ stories by assisting in his diabetes care.</li>

Partnered with JDRF-Beyond Type 1 Alliance and Sproutel, Rufus now offers enhanced features to assist children effectively in managing diabetes with the app. The app is complimentary, designed to aid children and families dealing with type 1 diabetes and can be paired with a stuffed animal for enhanced engagement.
